چکیده
Abstract. Recent studies demonstrate a large number of non-lipid modifiable effects statins in various diseases. However, although atherogenic dyslipidemia is common feature peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, use supported by limited data and there general lack research on their pleiotropic this patients’ cohort. The present study aimed to evaluate the possible atorvastatin PD patients.
Methods. A total 114 patients with an average age 55 (48-65) years vintage 31 (14-50) months were included combined retrospective prospective multicentre cohort study. (n = 54) who had started receiving before or after initiation been treated no less than 12 Atorvastatin Group. 60) have never taken consisted Atorvastatin-free Group.
In addition routine clinical adequacy tests, concentrations interleukins -6, -10, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 effluent (PDE) evaluated all participants at start follow-up period. primary outcomes 3-year technique survival all-cause mortality during period.
Results. users lower serum phosphate parathyroid hormone concentrations, higher weekly creatinine clearance, Kt/V urea, and, accordingly, compared PDE cytokines assessment demonstrated significantly studied Group Cox regression models, was associated better (HR 0.28 (95% CI 0.15; 0.54), p 0.003) reduction regardless age, diabetes, anuric status, albumin C-reactive protein levels, history peritonitis 0.24 0.44), < 0.0001).
Conclusions. treatment normalization phosphate-calcium metabolism, low intraperitoneal inflammation incidence PD-associated peritonitis, our patients. These may be one reasons for all‐cause Further are needed determine necessity prescribing

BACKGROUND/AIMS Combining peritoneal dialysis (PD) and hemodialysis (HD) has been common treatment option in Japan. METHODS In this retrospective, multicenter, observational study, the clinical characteristics and outcomes of 104 patients (57 ± 11 years, males 72%) who had switched from PD alone to combined therapy with PD and HD were studied. Clinical parameters were measured at baseline and...

UNLABELLED Backgound: This study evaluated whether the hydration status affected health-related quality of life (HRQOL) during 12 months in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. METHODS The hydration status and the HRQOL were examined at baseline and after 12 months using a bioimpedance spectroscopy and Kidney Disease Quality of Life-Short Form, respectively in PD patients. متن کاملCalciphylaxis in peritoneal dialysis patients: a single center cohort study
BACKGROUND Calciphylaxis is a rare but devastating condition in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Most research in the field of calciphylaxis is focused on hemodialysis (HD) patients; however, data on calciphylaxis incidence, risk factors, and mortality in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients are limited. METHODS In this cohort study, we examined data from adult patients who initiated PD ...
